In “Water Portraits” I ask people to reuse one liter of freshwater one after another until it’s gone. After each usage, I freeze the water and take its portrait. Each portrait gets the name of the person who used it, and there is a recipe for how the water was reused. After a chain is over because there is no water left, I start a new one.

The project will end when 101 ways of reusing water will be found. Currently, we’re at around 80. If you wish to take part in the project, you can fill in this form and I’ll get in touch soon.

Water Portraits reflect on how our actions affect others, care, and the passage of time.
