Crystal Bath is a role-playing experience about entering a collective dream while awake. Players step into a dreamscape that they co-create together, walking through it as both themselves and as figures from one another’s dreams. As it is played in nature, everything around becomes infused with double meaning, shaping a landscape that is at once real and imagined.
The game explores what it means to exist in a dual state: both a dreamer and someone’s dream. Scenes unfold through shared observation, interaction, and gentle role-play, gradually revealing how our inner worlds intertwine. The experience raises questions about the nature of dreaming, the shifting boundaries of identity, and the possibility of finding connection through collective imagination.

Crystal Bath is a part of the Dreamwalk series, developed in 2025 with the support and production of Sickhouse, a playful cultural space in Enschede. All Dreamwalk experiences were played in liminal public places across Enschede in the Netherlands.
The entire Dreamwalks series has been turned into a collection of zines, each containing full facilitator instructions for hosting the experiences. The zines were designed by Pablo San Gregorio and published in a limited edition by Sickhouse. You can download them all at Sickhouse’s itch.
