Fire Station is a role-playing experience about entering and rewriting the dreams of others. Players take the roles of professional dream-hackers, hired by clients who wish to alter reality at its most intimate level. Parents, executives, and politicians arrive with requests—obedience, love, fear—most of them demanding nightmares, since nightmares leave the deepest marks.

Each mission begins with a choice: a target, a dream to construct, and a performance to stage. One player witnesses while others embody the dream, and later a message arrives from the client. Sometimes they are pleased, sometimes horrified. The dream always changes something—but never quite as expected.

The larp examines the tension between power and intimacy, asking what it means to manipulate the subconscious, and whether nightmares can be rewritten to take over control of our lives.

Fire Station (also known as Dream Architecture)
is the first live role-playing experience in the Dreamwalk series, developed in 2025 with the support and production of Sickhouse, a playful cultural space in Enschede. All Dreamwalk experiences were played in liminal public places across Enschede in the Netherlands.

The entire Dreamwalks series has been turned into a collection of zines, each containing full facilitator instructions for hosting the experiences. The zines were designed by Pablo San Gregorio and published in a limited edition by Sickhouse. You can download them all at Sickhouse’s itch.
